The Butler Foundation works to improve awareness, education, research, treatment and family support for mesothelioma and social issues.
The Foundation was originally formed in memory of Kevin J. Butler (1957 – 2006) who lost his battle with the disease in 2006. In 2009, Kevin’s older brother, John E. "Jay" (1949-2009), who had been fighting the disease for over 12 years, also succumbed to Mesothelioma. The Foundation works tirelessly to honor the legacies that both Jay and Kevin leave behind. Our goal is, and always will be, to remember Kevin and Jay while finding a cure for this rare and aggressive form of cancer. We look forward to having you join us in our fight.

New Novel Therapies for Mesothelioma
We have pledged all donations to scientific research for mesothelioma and are proud to partner with Dr. Cunniff at the University of Vermont, College of Medicine. The Cunniff Lab is pioneering discoveries to uncover new anti-cancer targets within human cells giving hope for mesothelioma patients and their caregivers. Translating these discoveries into medicines is our biotech partner, RS Oncology, bringing new therapies to first in-human testing. To-date, the first phase of the clinical trials are underway. If you know anyone who might be eligible for these clinical trials, they can learn more about the MITOPE trial here.
